I'm joining Chestnut Tree House for their first ever virtual 10k - running #TogetherApart for local childrens hospice care. Chestnut Tree House cares for local children with life-shortening conditions giving them the chance to do all sorts of things that kids love doing. These children and families live in the moment, for the now. When you are facing the greatest of challenges, its the smallest of moments that really matter, taking time to relax, knowing your child is safe; splashing in the hydrotherapy pool together; talking to one of the nurses who understands exactly how difficult things are. The hospice costs over £3.5 million per year to run. Families are never charged for their care and less than 7p in every pound is funded by central government, so Chestnut Tree House relies heavily on the generosity of their amazing supporters (like you) to help raise the rest and continue providing this vital care.
