I have been very lucky to find the Portsmouth centre as netiher of my parents sail and I just love being on the water. If it wasn't for the Andrew Simpson Centre in Portsmouth (ASWC) I may never have learnt to sail. I am now thinking I might even like to start racing but currently I have no boat of my own but as part of ASWC I can use their boats at the clubs and this gives me opportunities to race and sail. I have even tried windsurfing.
Now, I would like to help them raise some funds for all the different works they do and especially for the the Portsmouth centre to replace some of the old equpiment. Below tells you a little about how they started.
The Andrew Simpson Foundation was inspired by Olympic Gold and Silver medalist Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson MBE. Our mission is to transform lives through sailing.Absolutely everything we do is driven by our belief that all young people have the ability to excel and succeed in life and work. We believe that the challenges of sailing and watersports do this by promoting health and well-being whilst also building essential life skills. These skills then enable young people to progress through education and into work.
