Story

Central White Watch was the first attending crew at the tragic helicopter crash last october. 5 people lost their lives that night. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was one of those people. We want to raise money for the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha foundation which has raised a huge amount for local charities, including life saving equipment which was desperately needed by the childrens intensive care unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary. He gave so much to the city of Leicester and not just for football fans. To show our gratitude , and as a mark of respect to all those who lost their lives that night, we want to do something in return. Four firefighters who attended this incident, Joe Robinson, David Tennant, Jamie Gear and Nick Lack will be running this years Leicester Half Marathon in fire kit and carrying a breathing apparatus cylinder. A half marathon is hard enough let alone without running in fire kit and the added weight of a cylinder too. Training has already begun, and it will be a monumental task. We are running for both this charity and The Firefighters Charity (target £1000 each by the whole team) so please be sure you are on the correct page for which you wish to donate. If you see us running the streets in full kit training for the event feel free to give us a hoot on your horn to show support! And if you have some pennies spare, please donate for this truely worthy cause. Thank you for reading our story.
