Story

GIVE TO A GOOD CAUSE - AND MAKE US LOOK STUPID

Kev and I are running the London 10K this Sunday to raise money for the mentoring charity Friends United Network (FUN), and we are asking you to sponsor us.

I have been a mentor to a teenage boy through FUN for over four years now. It has been a life-changing experience, and I wouldn't have been able to support Guuleed, my mentee, without the staff at FUN who have been incredibly good to us over the years. I am now a trustee of the charity, so I know that no donations go to waste.

But we know that this alone isn't going to persuade you to part with your hard-earned cash (especially since 10K is not that far for a former marathon runner and a Weekend Warrior) so we have decided to introduce an extra element of fun into the equation... Anyone making a donation on this site can use the comments box which comes up when you donate to suggest the costumes that Kev and I should run in on Sunday. These can be as ridiculous as you like - our only stipulation is nothing too expensive and no Mankinis. The person making the biggest donation will then have the pleasure of picking our costumes for the day, which we will sort out on Saturday.

So delve deep into your pockets and your imagination, make a donation and suggest the most humiliating costume you can think of. And once again, just to be clear - NO MANKINIS!

Thanks everyone!

Joe and Kev
