Story
On the 1st of June, I will set off cycling from Whitehaven in Cumbria heading to Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear, travelling across England from the Irish sea to the North sea...
I will be cycling approximately 145 miles with 11500ft of climbing over 4 days, hopefully raising some money for the Schools chosen charity which is explained below...Thank you for your support...Joseph.
The charity that the senior school is supporting this year is the Treehouse Community Café in Holt. It was opened last year and has a community fridge, zero waste café, outdoor area with a vegetable garden and runs workshops such as childrens yoga and music groups. This community centre is vital to the area as it provides a friendly and welcoming environment that aims to support people affected by poverty and deprivation in Holt. This effort particularly helps anyone who needs it from new mums, to vulnerable elderly people and children with speech difficulties. Our goal of £6000 will go towards building a low-level treehouse with disabled access and a sensory garden. A group of Greshams students visited the Treehouse Community centre in October to help start the development of the sensory garden where the treehouse will be situated.
