Story
Hi hi, thanks for checking out my page.
Almost certainly as a reaction to entering the world of work I have made a snap, foolish decision - one which I will almost certainly regret. I have signed up for an ‘Olympic triathlon’ (1500m open water swim, 40km cycling, and a 10km run), to be completed on July 19th 2015.
In order to gain some positivity from what is almost certainly a desperate and uninformed life choice which I am drastically unprepared for, I will be running on behalf of Cancer Research UK.
Cancer would have touched almost all of us in some shape or form throughout our lives. Over summer, my family and I lost my great uncle and granddad over the course of a week and a half to this vile disease.
I was particularly close to my granddad; a strong, charismatic and inspirational man. His passing hit us all hard after a fairly sharp decline after a long, drawn out fight against various cancers throughout his body. Although no good came from his passing, I hope to use the strength of his memory and the characteristics he has instilled in me to propel me through training and the race - something that will no doubt be the biggest challenge I have faced in my life to date (except maybe living with Heppers for a full year).
To be able to make a small contribution to the fight is an opportunity I relish; something I would consider humbling and probably exhausting in equal measures.
I won’t be pushy with this, an odd status here or there to annoy the masses is probably as much as I will push it, that being said, any donation you make I promise will be incredibly gladly received and with a healthy dose of gratitude.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my page.
Mucho Love.
