Story
Atkins (Member of the SNC-Lavalin group) is a Patron of RedR UK and has supported us for a number of years. This year we are encouraging each new graduate to raise £100 as part of a team of Young Professionals.
Jordanation Matters is a team of 14 graduates based in The Hub in Bristol. Many of the key projects that RedR are conducting are focused on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with operations based in the RedR regional office in Jordan. This work formed the inspiration for our team name and the challenges that we are undertaking.
Our primary challenge is to collectively run/walk the distance from The Hub (in Bristol) to the Jordanian Embassy (in London) and back. This equates to a total distance of 228 miles, to be completed by 25th February.
The team is also hosting a Last Man Standing challenge, in which competitors pick a Premier League football team to win a match every game week. If that team wins, the participant progresses to the next round and if not they are out. Ultimately the last one standing will win a prize, with the remainder of the proceeds going to RedR.
RedR UK is an international disaster relief charity that gives people the skills to prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters and conflict. RedR trains thousands of people each year, ensuring they can get clean water services running again, prevent a cholera outbreak, test the safety of a building after an earthquake and much more. Citizens are always the first responders to a disaster. That's why RedR builds the skills of national aid workers working for local organisations to ensure skills remain in-country for the long term ready for future disasters.Your donation will help aid workers to save and rebuild more lives after disasters.
