Story
I have been in Bristol 38 years now and seen such an incredible change in the city, both good and bad. I have been so impressed with Caring in Bristol and the work they do for the people that need it in this city, that it’s an honour to collect donations for this wonderful charity. I also have a lot of admiration for the team that have put this trip together and how much they bring to Bristol, creating an amazing culture and feeding those that pay for it and more importantly those that can’t.
I know climbing Kili is, without doubt, about my own personal enjoyment and these type of trips can seem a selfish ‘bucket list’ type thing to do but I reassure you, none of the donations you kindly give will go to any of my expenses and I will match fund regularly to make sure we hit the target together.
Thank you! And thank you Bristol for being my home for the majority of my life.

Here’s some info about the trip
On the 14th October 2023 an eclectic group of friends and colleagues will be partaking in a mountain climb of epic proportions to raise money for Caring in Bristol, supporting the local charity’s vision of creating a city empowered to solve homelessness. Setting off from Machame Gate in Tanzania our team will be taking on a day 10 trekking adventure to summit the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro. Standing at a staggering 5,895 metres, it makes Kilimanjaro the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world; and this is the challenge that we have set ourselves. From battling through the dense Tanzanian rainforest to navigating huge ravines, from the scorching heat to dangerous altitudes; the challenges that we will be presented with are rather daunting but we believe we are up to the task. So if you can please do donate to this page and show us your support, and in doing so you will be helping to support some of Bristol's most vulnerable individuals.
