Story
Hi
I did it!
To all those who have donated money and provided me with encouragement over the last 6 months thank you so much. I couldn't have done this without you. With your support I've exceeded my target for the Royal British Legion by about £400 altogether which is brilliant, thank you all so much for your generosity.
The time - 4:36:11
It was an amazing day. Perfect weather, the famous London crowd in great spirits and team Parry (Elaine, Alex, Sian, Evie and Andrew) in just the right place on the Embankment (miles 20 to 24 were a bit of a struggle!!!) to see me through to the finish. I will never forget crossing that line, one of the best moments of my life.
It wasn't quite the time I'd trained for originally due to various injuries in the last 2 months, but that doesn't detract in any way from it being a great day and a great sense of achievement - I certainly know I gave it all I had on the day. All it does mean is that I'm already thinking maybe I'd like to have one more go in a couple of years, maybe!

About 72 hrs days after the event, some photos should be viewable at this link - http://www.marathonfoto.com/index.cfm?RaceOID=19802009S1&LastName=PARRY&BibNumber=48134&Mailing=22650
See here to find out more about my amazing charity www.britishlegion.org.uk and the work that we are all supporting.
If you'd still like to make a donation this website will be open for a while after the event and it only takes a couple of minutes of your time.
Many thanks
Jon
