Story
A big thank you our final total is more than 50% over out £1000 target - including £530.18 raised at the gig from the entry donations, raffle and music quiz.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, the bands, our raffle donors, those who supported the gig, raffle and quiz on Saturday and the staff at the Grove Hill.
We are fundraising in memory of Jon Jones on the tenth anniversary of his death. Jon, also known as 'Jonesey', was a painter and decorator and a Leeds lad, gradually moving north to Otley, attracted by the pubs and hill walks, and the x84 bus route to the Leeds Rhinos Ground He loved Rugby League, real ale, 80s metal music and holding court in his local, the Junction Inn.
Jon died of bowel cancer on 25th September 2011 aged 43: Wheatfields supported Jon and Alison throughout his illness, and cared for him in his final days.
Our previous gigs, quiz, darts tournaments, walks and other donations have so far raised thousands for Wheatfields in his memory. This year we seek to build on that to honour the amazing work that the hospice does, particularly in these challenging times when their opportunities to fundraise through shops and events have been reduced, and an increase in cancer diagnosis as the health service opens up is anticipated.
Thank you for your support
