Story
Last year, on October 8th, my father Tony Jones died from the combined effects of conventional treatment and brain cancer. 30 years earlier his wife Mary Jones suffered the same tragedy. Wanting to commemorate my parents and support others affected by cancer I decided that I wanted to organise a week of events that aimed to raise awareness about cancer, challenge some of the myths surrounding cancer and various treatments whilst inspiring people to adopt more anti-cancerous lifestyles.
At the 10th October launch event of Challenge Cancer week I shall be shaving my head to raise money for Macmillan. There shall be loads of opportunities for everyone to get involved throughout the week including a sponsored fire walk at the finale event a week later to raise money for local cancer support charity annabels angels.
