Terry Fox Run UK 2021 · 2 October 2021 ·

Join us and the millions of people across Canada and the world celebrate Canada's hero, Terry Fox, while raising money for cancer research in the UK. This October, walk, run or cycle in your local area or run with us in London's Battersea Park.

Story

At 18 years of age, Terry Fox learned that due to bone cancer his right leg would be amputated above the knee. During his ordeal, Terry became convinced that a cure for cancer could be found through cancer research, but funds were in short supply. Four decades on, Terry's 'Marathon of Hope' continues to raise funds for cancer research through the charity founded by Terry's family. To date the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over £500 million to support cancer research. Here in the UK, the Terry Fox Run supports The Institute of Cancer Research, London which is one of the world's leading cancer research institutes.
