Story
First of all, thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
I am running a trail marathon taking in the coast of Northumberland, along beaches, across sand dunes and through rivers that come up to my chest.
This marathon is not your ordinary marathon, the total distance actually equates to around 28.5 miles (as opposed to the usual 26.2), and as a large portion of it takes place across sand, another dimension of pain is added to the equation.
I am raising money for Diabetes UK because they do a great job in raising awareness of diabetes amongst the public, providing support for those who suffer with the condition and funding research to find a cure or better treatment.
I am no great runner but enjoy pushing myself, it allows me to search deeper to find what my body is (or isn't) capable of.
My sister has had type 1 diabetes since the age of 21 months and I can see the impact that diabetes has upon the lives of everyone that it affects.
I would be grateful, as would Diabetes UK and diabetics across the World if you could donate any amount of money to help me reach my target.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Jonathan
