Story
On 16th July 2022 myself and good friend Jayme have decided to cycle 295 miles over four days in order to raise money for Young Lives Vs Cancer.
The route we have chosen is King Alfred's Way, it is a 218 mile circular off-road route which starts and finishes at King Alfred’s statue in Winchester, in order to add a few more miles on to the challenge, we plan to ride to Winchester from Bournemouth before starting the official route, then ride back to Bournemouth once completed. The ride will take four days with two nights of camping and one night of luxury in a hotel.
The reason for taking on this challenge is that in February 2020 my nephew Jensen (Jigs) was diagnosed with a brain tumour, needless to say his diagnosis was devastating. Since then Jigs has been travelling on a very different journey than anyone would ever have imagined and even when the world seems to be against him, his strength and courage is remarkable, he really is such an inspirational little guy.
Mike and Beth (Jigs dad and mum) would like any money raised to be donated to Young Lives Vs Cancer following the amazing support they have received from the charity along their journey.
Jayme had decided to join me on this fundraising challenge and we hope to raise £3000 for a very worthy cause. Thank you for visiting our fundraising page and a donation of any amount is truly appreciated.
Thanks again
Jon and Jayme
