ARC - Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge · 5 September 2009

We’re the 10 million people living with arthritis in the UK. The carers, researchers and healthcare professionals. The family, friends and fundraisers. United by a clear vision: a future free from arthritis. One in which no one is limited by the pain, fatigue and isolation that arthritis can cause.

Story

With a full 9 minutes to spare I'm pleased to say I qualified to join the Three Peaks of Yorkshire Club by completing the challenge under 12 hours!  Thanks very much to everybody who donated so generously.  If you didn't get around to it there is still time at www.justgiving.com/jonathan-webb

In less than 10 days I'm pleased to say I raised in excess of £650 for the very worthy Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC). I always associated Arthritis with older people but knowing as I do now that it affects babies and children as well as adults I am even more delighted with the contribution you have helped me make.

Despite it being a lovely day throughout the rest of the country we managed to find driving rain and howling winds on the summits of  (2,276 ft), Whernside (2,415 ft) and Ingleborough (2,372 ft) along the 40km trek.

The wind and rain eased off after 11 hours...to deliver some much needed sunshine.  It was the first time we could actually see the peaks that we had been up!

Thanks again for your words and financial encouragement.

Jon
