I am a product of Reality Changers. As a child, I always dreamed of going to college. However, I did not know the steps and requirements to get there. Furthermore, my resources were limited both at school and at home. Reality Changers provided a safe space outside of my typical environment for me to develop academically and personally. Thanks to their support I was able to earn a full-ride scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene University, where I earned a bachelors degree in psychology. 

After becoming a first-generation college graduate I returned to Reality Changers (and my community) as a staff member. For a decade, I served students by providing them with the resources and skills necessary for them to be successful at the post-secondary level. These experiences motivated me to continue pursuing higher education. Today, I stand as a master in counseling with a graduate degree from San Diego State University. Programs like Reality Changers have the ability to transform communities - it changed my life.
