A St Mungo's story...
People can become homeless for many reasons and the effects of homelessness can be devastating. Jordon's story - I was born in Bristol. One of ten. We were like the monkeys at Longleat. Life was chaotic and unfortunately a couple of us ended up in care for a bit. Between the ages of 15 and 17 I was in and out of Young Offenders Institutions and this continued into my adult life. After my Nan died, my mental health went downhill. I was in a real bad state. I needed some mental health support to maintain my housing. It was only when I came to St Mungo's that I started engaging. All of my life I didn't trust professionals but all of a sudden there were these people who wanted to help. Nobody deserves to be unhappy, nobody deserves to be lonely or isolated. Without St Mungo's I'd find it hard to support myself in a decent home. I'd still be running around a prison wing somewhere. My life wouldn't have progressed.
