Story
Zac was 1 when we had his diagnosis of Infantile Batten's disease. This is a neurodegenerative disease that takes everything from the kids and they will die within 5 or 6 years. They need care to do everything and lose all of their neuro skills, so cannot walk, talk, eat, move independently and suffer from epilepsy and basically have a very tough life!
Forget Me Not Hospice at home service were there for us to help look after Zac and the rest of the family. They were brilliant and enabled us to have a few hours to ourselves a few times a week while making sure was content and looked after. They let us use their hydrotherapy pool, which Zac and I loved doing for a couple of years. Zac passed away in March 2016 after being supported for over 4 years by the hospice.
They are a fantastic charity doing a much needed role in the community. Please help us to raise a few pounds to help them support other families facing the toughest times in their lives.
Molly who is now 13 and fit as a flea is going to run 10km every day for 10 consecutive days and Krista and I are going to run and walk the same distance in the same time frame. None of us have ever run a 10km before so should be interesting!!
