We enable women in Africa set up businesses to help them work their way out of poverty.

Story

The MicroLoan Foundation is a truly inspired idea of one of my former neighbours, .  It is to help some of the poorest people in the world look after themselves. Within four months, the majority of loans are repaid in full so cash is recirculated - it is therefore a very different approach to charity.  Sir Bob Geldof is a patron.

Because the charity is small, money recirculated and costs kept to a minimum small contributions can go a long way.

The MicroLoan Foundation is a based microfinance charity that provides small loans, basic business training and ongoing mentoring support to poor women in sub-Saharan .  Its innovative microfinance model enables people living on less than $1 a day to develop self-sustainable livelihoods, to feed, clothe and educate their families, and work their own way out of the poverty trap.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for MicroLoan.
