Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Breast cancer first affected our lives around 4-5 years ago when my mum (Jean) was diagnosed with it. Thankfully with the type of cancer that it was, she had chemotherapy & radiotherapy treatment along with a lumpectomy and has since been given the all clear.
A couple of years on from this and 2 of my good friends also got this horrible disease. Luckily enough, one of them survived and is still recovering but the saddest of news meant that my other friend was not so lucky leaving behind her children and husband. I just can’t imagine the pain.
Fast forward to today and my beautiful wife Helen is now in the really horrible and unfortunate position to be fighting this battle against what is a real bastard of a disease. She has been amazing, tough, positive, kind and still putting all of us first before herself. She has gone through a mastectomy and lymph node clearance and now she is right in the middle of the 6 chemo treatments for good measure. The journey is tough but we are hoping for the best. Its scary for me, its scary for our kids and it must be so frightening for her. A real living nightmare. It's not just us though, as we also have another one of our good friends going through the same thing. But thankfully she has successfully completed all her active treatment so we are keeping our fingers crossed for a full and strong recovery.
It is with this in mind that I want to do my bit to raise as much awareness and funds to help this amazing charity.
I will be running the London Marathon dressed in a huge Breast outfit so please please please, help me raise both the awareness and funds.
