Story

Hello everyone.

I am finally going for the big one and after six long years of applying, I am running the London Marathon on 25 April 2010. I am running in aid of the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS), which is the only British charity working to fight a terribly debilitating illness.

As many of you will know, I have run several half-marathons in the past and have a personal best time of 1:34:56. However, that was at my peak and in my last performance, I posted a woeful 1:51:57. As such, I have a lot of work to do to achieve a sub-4 hours target. In striving for this, everyone who catches me is allowed to berate me for eating too many sweet things and not having run my required 25 miles per week.

Photos of me will hopefully appear soon on the site as a visual depiction of my suffering. Running partners are actively being sought and will be gratefully accepted.

As an end note, a few words about JustGiving.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep for me and the NASS and donate now.
