Story
Trustee for 10 years and Chair for the last four, I come to the end of my time at Thames Hospice in early September. It has been a great privilege to help lead this wonderful charity, where our caring teams support patients and their loved ones to have quality of life to the end of life. As a last hurrah, I am joining The Big Mountain Challenge to raise much-needed funds for the hospice, and delighted that this will be a family effort. I will be joined by daughters Anna and Rachel together with son-in-law Doug. The Big Mountain challenge is undoubtedly well outside my comfort zone, as although I have owned a bike for many years it has long remained in the shed! I have to confess that I have been promised a little help from an electric motor!
We will be cycling between 150 and 250 miles in total and climbing between 15,000ft – equivalent to Mont Blanc up to 29,029ft equivalent to Mount Everest, which Doug completed three years ago. We really would appreciate your support for this family effort, and this will be my last challenge for the Hospice, I promise! JJ
