Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As you know Jonny and Owensy decided to apply to do the Great North Run in the hope we would not get a place and could at least say we had tried!?
Unfortunately we were both successull and are actually going to have to run the grueling 13.1 mile course ending in our home time of South Shields (if we make it).
We are running for the Spinal Injuries association, a charity close to our heart. You may not know but at christmas 2005 Owensy had a serious illness to his spine and was unable to walk or do much (well less than normal) for an extended period of time. We all thought it was just an extended hangover but it was more serious than anyone had first imagined possible. Luckily as he was an incredibly fit athlete (maybe thats a lie) he was able to make a full recovery and is now able to complete this challenge (we hope). Unfortunately many people don't recover from such injuries and this charity helps to support indivduals who have had their lives changed by such illnesses.
Training hasn't been going well, Owensys binge diet of kebabs and beers has left him with a strict three week crash course in half marathon running. Jonny has been trying to train but the medical mysteries that are his feet (pigs trotters) aren't fairing to well and will be ready to fall off by the end of it!
If you can, please sponsor us to help support such a great charity and in turn all the people they help!
Thanks,
Jonny & Owensy,
the Two Fattys!
