Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m planning to be on the start line for Maidenhead Boundary Walk on 4th October 2020. I can choose which charity to run for – and so I’m walking for the South Bucks Hospice. In 1995 Nanna had a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) which was very serious and received treatment on her leg at the South Bucks Hospice for over twenty five years. Sadly Nanna died last October aged 92.
I am keen to support the work the South Bucks Hospice does in her memory, as not only did it support her with its specialised lymphoedema service, it also offers a lot of other services, for example a day hospice, providing specialist palliative and end of life care for people diagnosed with life-limiting or long term illnesses. In addition, it offers a consultation and assessment to form a suitable care plan for its patients. It also provides advice to a wide range of allied health and social care organisations involved in patients' palliative and end of life care, as well as helping families and carers of patients.
We miss Nanna very much – but I’m really chuffed to be walking in her memory.
