Brothers in (a Call to) Arms

66 Inf Gp, UNDOF Syrian Arab Republic, wish to pay tribute to our fallen comrade Pte Seán Rooney who lost his life serving his country overseas. Seán was killed whilst on active service in Lebanon in December 2022 and his tragic and untimely death has left a huge hole in the hearts of his family and of his friends, many of whom are members of 66 Inf Gp.

During his short life Seán was a devoted fundraiser for a charity that provided care and support to his grandmother Rachel: Mater Foundation. Now a close friend of Seán’s and member of 66 Inf Gp may also seek care and support from that same charity in the Mater Hospital.

66 Inf Gp have come together and want to show OUR Brothers in Arms that we have them in our thoughts and prayers, but what is more, is that we wish to prove that support, however, for this we need your help.

Starting on 03 Mar 2023, 66 Inf Gp will partake in the David Goggin’s Challenge!

This challenge requires our members to run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48hours.

This challenge involves running a 1km loop for a total of 12 runs equaling 78km just short of 2 marathons. We will complete this event at 980m above sea level on the Golan plateau, Syrian Arab Republic.
