Jailed & Bailed
In a mad moment I agreed to take part in the British Red Cross annual Jailed & Bailed event to be hosted by the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, Alderman and Mrs Michael Bear, on Tuesday 31st May. I will be arrested at Mansion House, on spurious charges dreamed up by a friend and yet to be confirmed, and then be transported by the City of London Police to the Tower of London where I will be incarcerated pending bail.
On the condition that I raise £1,000 in bail in support of the British Red Cross by 2pm that day, I will be a free man again…but if not, I will be left to sample Her Majesty’s hospitality indefinitely! While I have been assured that I will be made ‘as comfortable as possible’ at the Tower if all else fails and I don’t reach bail, I implore you to help me by contributing towards my bail now!
All bail is raised in aid of the British Red Cross and I would be very grateful if you would give generously to this wonderful cause.
In crisis situations, people need the Red Cross to be there when there is no one else to turn to. This year, millions of people will depend on them and helping me raise bail for this event means that they can be there when it counts.
