Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 24th June 2011, as part of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's golf fundraising day, we took on a golfing half marathon of 36 holes in one day at Pinner Hill and Batchworth Park in north-west London. We covered more than 12,000 yards (add on a few hundred yards for searching for the wayward shots into the bushes and woods!) over nearly 10 hours.

The 36 holes was double the amount of golf we have played in a single day and was an exhausting challenge but one which we completed, as the rain started to fall!

Your donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign would be greatly appreciated as we took on this challenge on behalf of the 70,000 babies, children and adults affected by muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions in the U.K. Muscle disease causes the gradual weakening and wasting of muscles, can be severely disabling, and some forms of muscle disease can be severely life-limiting. Many young boys in the UK with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are dying before they get beyond their teens if they don’t have access to the specialist care they need. There are no cures for muscle disease.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign leads the fight against muscle disease by funding world-class research, offering free information and advice about care and support, providing grants towards equipment and campaigning to raise awareness and bring about change.

Thanks for your support!!
