Last year I decided to sign up to a challenge I still have no idea if I will be able to complete a 100mile ultra marathon. 

To date the furthest I have run is 50miles so this is a big leap up and is just shy of four back to back marathons in a single day. 

So why Diabetes UK? Unfortunately my wife Sarah was diagnosed with type 1 during the pregnancy of our daughter Sophie. At present this type of diabetes is not something that can be cured and involves multiple injections a day just to keep on top of it (an average diabetic will inject insulin about 2000 times a year!). 

I hope in someway that my fundraising efforts (no matter how much I raise) will support a future in which this can be cured or at least controlled with less intervention.
