Lets give you the context of the 10000 Mile challenge.
Over the last few years the Trail Walking Club which I am the team leader raised over £25k for Mountain Rescue in England. We have raised this money via a charity walk and martial arts seminar, in 2020 this was not possible due to COVID19 restrictions.
So at the start of the pandemic, I decided to walk every day until I reach 1000 miles and finish on the top of Scafell Pike (England Highest Mountain). I am doing this in aide of Wasdale Mountain Rescue and in memory of my mum and dad who both passed away in Late 2019 and Early 2020 only 70 days apart.
The 1000 Miles was reached on the 25th December 2020 (Christmas Day) but sadly due to COVID19 restrictions we could not meet the team on top of Scafell Pike.
So i decided to extend the deadline to September 18th 2021 and Target another 2000 miles and then we kept going and on the 24th September 2022 we summited Hellvelyn at the 4000 mile marker in support of Patterdale MRT
So the aim now is to reach 10000 miles raising money for a different Mountain Rescue Team. So this is Stage 3, the 5000 mile Marker in support of Isle of Skye Mountain Rescue Team and we will summit Cairngorm on 15th April 2023
