This year I will be attempting to complete a marathon every month, for 12 months to raise money for Target Ovarian cancer. It is a charity which I have raised money for before, and one which is close to my heart.

Sadly Ovarian Cancer is something I have become more familiar with due to my mum being diagnosed in July 2015. In her case she had no symptoms and it was found only by chance following a random CA125 blood test. Since then the cancer has come back twice, and she is currently undergoing her third treatment of chemotherapy. 

The strength which she has shown throughout the last 5 years is what inspired me to take on this challenge. The worries and struggles I will endure will be no match to what she, and others dealing with cancer must go through. 

So, it is for this reason I am going to attempt this ridiculous feat. Hopefully by simply putting one foot in front of another I can raise both awareness of this awful disease, and vital funds towards research and desperately needed new treatments.
