Story
My name is Jon Fox and when I was 8 years old, I was lucky enough to receive a life saving liver transplant. This was all possible through organ donation.
Due to my recent performance at the British Transplant Games, I have been selected to represent Team GB & NI to compete in the World Transplant Games in Perth, Australia. It is an honour to been selected once again to represent my Country.
For 40 years the World Transplant Games has been staging international sporting events for transplant athletes in order to demonstrate the physical success of transplant surgery and to raise awareness of the need to increase organ donation.
Unfortunately every athlete has to fund their own travel and registration costs for the games, I'm asking if you could spare even a small amount to help with these costs for me.Any surplus funds will go towards the Transplant Sport UK Management Team (including physios and coaches) who give up their time to support the team
My aim with competing in these games is to show the world that transplantation does work and how much we need more people like you to join the organ donor register.
If through me competing at the World Transplant Games I can save even 1 life, through someone joining the donor register, then it would be worth it. I'm lucky enough to have been given the Greatest Gift of Life, unfortunately so many aren't as lucky.
Thank you to Phil Horan for the amazing photo from the previous World Transplant Games in Malaga
