Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page. Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. Over 11,000 men die every year in the UK and the number increases every year. The Mission of PCRC is to develop new therapy for men with advanced prostate cancer.
10 years ago my Father was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, having not presented with any significant symptoms. He had surgery and is still alive today. He was lucky.Surgery can be successful if you catch it in time, but there is no cure. Currently for those with advanced Prostate cancer where surgery is not an option, treatments can help keep it under control, sometimes for several years, and treatments may also help to manage some of the symptoms. Every pound raised will help PCRC to achieve their treatment goals. Their immediate goal is to increase survival rates and their ultimate long term vision is a cure for the disease.
