LONDON MARATHON 2022
Over two years ago I decided (very spontaneously) that I was going to run the London Marathon. It was a Thursday evening when Joe said “I’ll do it if you do it” with a big grin on his face followed, “I’ve got cancer, what’s your excuse?” He told me he would run with me every step of the way and help me cross the finish line no matter what it took…so there and then, I signed up.
On March 8th 2021, Joe unfortunately lost his battle with cancer. Although Joe and I will never get to cross the finish line together, I know he will be with me every step of the way.
I now have the honour of running it with Dave, Joe’s dad, who signed up (after a little persuasion from me 😊) but who has given me the motivation to be able to run (& walk 😝) on October 2nd despite everything. Dave, I hope you are fully prepared for my tears on the big day!
Big shout out also goes to Chantal Conway & Jade Samuels, my training partners, who are both running the London marathon for Rays of Sunshine.
If it weren’t for Rays & the vital work they do, Joe never would have gone to NYC to meet his idols on the Giants team whilst creating unforgettable memories with his mummy Antonietta, sister Amelia & dad Dave. Every single penny donated will go towards granting magical wishes for seriously ill children who desperately need some sunshine in their lives ☀️
Thank you!
