Story
Thanks for visiting my page!
As you will probably know, I have been fundraising for Trekstock since 2016. I came across this small charity on social media, and I quickly realised that the support it offered was exactly what I'd been struggling to find.
Having been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2010, I'd spent years feeling alone on my journey, thinking that my life would be over before it really began. I am alive and well today thanks to the immunotherapy drug Pembrolizumab which literally saved my life.
I have been fortunate to meet some wonderful people through Trekstock, from other cancer patients who have become friends, to those who have dedicated their careers to making Trekstock a success.
Sadly, some of the people I've been lucky enough to cross paths with have passed away, and by some miracle, I am one of the lucky ones.
I will be walking 26 miles across Hadrian's Wall in memory of some people I have met since my diagnosis. Caroline, Fi and Saima, to name a few!
I hope to raise funds so that Trekstock can provide more information and support programmes to help young adults deal with cancer's emotional and physical impact.
Over the past few years, My friends and I have taken part in the 10k Urban Trek (2019), Lake District 5 Peak Challenge (2018) and Conquer The Tower (2017). Hadrian's Wall was meant to take place in April 2020, but had to be postponed until 10th September 2022.
If you donated when I started this page in 2020, your donation will still be going to Trekstock. Thank you again. You are all fantastic!
I shall be joined by Lucy, Sarah and Rachel, three of my fabulous friends who are no strangers to charity fundraising events. They have been incredible during my cancer journey and I wouldn't be where I am today without their support.
