We are taking on this challenge because we want children and young people with autism and their families to have the support they need through this time of crisis. Many autistic young people and their families already deal with the daily challenge of isolation, anxiety and financial exclusion and this Coronavirus crisis has turned their lives upside down. We want to support Ambitious about Autism to raise awareness of the challenges they face and support they desperately need. As parents of a fantastic autistic boy, we know how much talent young people have to offer and the many barriers they face to access the ordinary things that everyone takes for granted - like an education, friendships and social opportunities and a future in work. We are doing it together to mark our 20 years as a team.
