Story
Earlier this year, my Dad was registered as severely sight impaired (blind).
He’s dealt with his deteriorating eyesight with such positivity and humour that it’s inspired me to raise money for those who have to cope with losing something as vital as sight.
What better challenge than the London Marathon!
I have been injured since the beginning of the year and at the moment, I can’t run 5km so the thought of running 26.2 miles (42.2km) scares me silly; but even if I have to walk, or crawl across the finish line, I’m doing it!
I will be running the marathon to raise funds for Retina UK - a charity supporting people affected by inherited sight loss and investing in medical research to help make their challenges a thing of the past.
I would love your support with reaching my fundraising target! Any donations will be gratefully received.
First training challenge– run 5km! Wish me luck!
