#TeamStroke are raising vital funds to support stroke survivors rebuilding their lives after stroke by running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2020

Story

It’s now just over twelve months since I suffered  a stroke which left me completely paralysed down the left side also with very limited speech. Before this I was a keen runner and always found running a great way to unwind and forget about the daily challenges of life as the miles passed by. Personally I’ve found the mental battle post stroke more challenging at times than the physical one, and even though my movement returned fully after eight hours, Twelve months on I still strive daily to get back to ”normal.” Over the last few months I’ve made a conscious decision not to give up in my quest to find a new normal,  I had already given up on playing guitar again, was ready to give up on playing golf, also given up on ever completing a long distance run ever again. So over the last few months I’ve decided to buy a new guitar, committed to play golf at least once a week regardless of how bad the score, and now to complete the final piece of the jigsaw. Ive committed, with the help and support of my brother Derek  who will also be running, to running the London landmarks half marathon on 29th March 2020. So I don’t pull out or give up once the training starts, I would really appreciate your support for this fantastic cause who help the rehabilitation of so many people post stroke.
