Story
On 8th June it will be 2 years since my wife, Cath, was admitted into ward 33 of the Freeman Hospital with Acute Myeloid leukemia (AML). Although at the time we were unaware of the odds of survival, we have since found out that they were very poor, Cath was very ill throughout her treatment resulting in several days in intensive care soon after her bone marrow transplant.
I have no doubt that had she not had the care she recieved from Prof Jackson and his team, and all the staff on ward 33, she would not be alive today.
As a small token of my thanks I will be cycling the coast to coast on the weekend of 2nd June with my friend Ian Turner and my brother Peter, supported by Cath's brother Richard and his wife Jackie.
Please donate as much as you can to "Bright Red" who support the blood cancer department of the Freeman and help blood cancer victims throughout the north of England, and assist them to continue doing the tremendous work they do.
