Story
A bit About my Mum: I am running the 2012 London Marathon to raise awareness and much needed funding for the research and treatment of Leukaemia and other blood disorders. My Mum is affected by several blood disorders and given how close I am to her, and her determination to fight these disorders, I wanted to run the 42kms for her and support the cause that aims to find a cure for her conditions. My Mum, along with my Dad will be coming to London to support me which is great motivation for me as the trip from Australia is a particularly long one as Mum can not fly for more than 6 hours at a time due to her condition. Guys, please give generously as all funds are going to this deserving charity + please tick "gift aid" so the charity can claim the full donation tax free!
A bit About the Charity: Leukaemia CARE exists to provide vital care and support to all those whose lives have been affected by Leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and the allied blood disorders. Our work extends to the welfare of families and carers, as well as that of patients themselves. Quite simply, ‘supporting a quality of life for all’. The incidence and prevalence of blood cancers has increased over the years, and it is now the 5th most common type of cancer in the UK, with official figures suggesting that around 30,000 people are diagnosed each year with Leukaemia, lymphoma or an allied blood disorder. Leukaemia CARE has therefore developed and expanded an impressive range of services to help address the needs of our patients and their families to provide practical care and support in every way we can. Your help is crucial for us to continue this work.
