Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the London Marathon! All the money which you donate goes straight to Anthony Nolan to help with a great cause, saving the lives of people with blood cancer.

I am running the marathon for a number of reasons ... I have always wanted to run the marathon seeing it as a personal challenge (and so i can tick it off my bucket list), proving that one person can make a difference and the most important reason of all is to help people like my sister who has battled with cancer for years.

The saving grace for our family was hearing the news that the doctors at the hospital had finally found a matching donor! The bone marrow transplant was a very stressful time for everyone but now a few years down the line, my sister is healthy and achieving more than we thought possible.

Here are a few life saving items which the money we raise will be going:

£2.25 - Extracting DNA for a saliva sample

£7.00 - the cost of a spit kit for tissue typing to join the donation register

£17.00 - the cost of a box to transport donated stem cells from a donor to a patient for a potential transplant.

I promise to keep you up to date with all the progress i have made with my fund raising and running via a blog, as well as sharing tips and other information about the charity and the work they are doing.
