Story
We've done it!
Aonach Eagach & Three other peaks, Ben Nevis, Sca Fell, Scafell Pike and three other peaks, Snowdon via Crib Goch and two other peaks, Tryfan
About Fifty Miles, Fifteen Peaks, Over 15,000feet and all in FOUR days plus three days driving of about 1300miles.
Myles and James have found this to be by far the hardest thing they have done, I have found it the hardest thing for many years. We have earned more than we have raised and haven't quite reached our target yet - HELP!
Before we left, the highest ranking soldier had just been killed, he was a Major. Upon return we discover that within a week, the highest rank is now a colonel! This is a small part of the trajic story of conflicts have recently been involved in. The injuries and mental health issues are not discussed - in fact, try to find out the numbers, it's really difficult and very well protected!
This challenge was hard work throughout, James and Myles had to take lead responsibility in turns and organisation was shared from the outset. Physically demanding and often quite dangerous it has been a big ask. We have also enjoyed the process and achievement immensely.
On our last day we were battered by the wind atop Crib Goch and drenched by rain towards Snowdon. Soaked, tired and wishing for the blistering heat of previous days, we passed a group of chaps roping a colleague in a wheelchair - Fair Play! Needless to say, their effort and our respect for their effort spurred us on to complete Tryfan only a few hours later (and no, the wind and rain didn't let up) - Top Buzz!!
Make a donation for our effort, make a donation for the hell of it, make a difference to those that could really do with more help than they are getting.
For a goodly donation (your judgement), email me once you have done so on john.murray@kre8.co.uk and I will send you a CD of all the photos (about 180) and a few video clips and a pdf document of my (as yet uneditted) diary of the challenge.
Thanks, a very tired and blistered me
Help us, help our heroes
Thank you
