Story
Hi, My name is John Kirby,
Thank you for visiting my web page.
My 7 year old son Billy ( pictured ) saw the advert for the NSPCC about the little boy in his cot who dosent bother crying as nobody comes to answer him and got really upset, Billy decided to donate all his pocket money every month to the NSPCC because of that advert.
Billy was also mad about Toy story and his best character was buzz lightyear, on July 2 2005 my little boy went upstairs to play with his lego just like any other healthy 7 year old boy but on this afternoon he fell from his bunkbed and fataly injured inself as he fell, he went upstairs to play a healthy 7 year old and he never came back down stairs, that was the last time i saw my little baby alive.
It has taken me 3 1/2 years to pluck up the courage to finally run for Billys chosen charity but as im running in memory of my little boy i will also run dressed as buzz lightyear, i know this is going to be a huge emotional rollercoster but its something i have set my heart on doing and i know if Billy was alive today he would be chuffed to bits.
So please if you can donate anything i would be very gratefull and you would also be helping to prevent the cruelty that many children have to suffer.
Thank you very much, and hopefully i will see you at the finish!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you to everyone that dug into their pockets and sponsored me, it took me 4hrs 42mins to cross the finish line in my full buzz lighyear kit, it was so hot but i got there in the end so thank you very much, See you next year!!
