Story

I thought I'd do a bit of good for a change and support one of the Balfour Beatty's Charity Partners', Groundwork UK, who do some truly excellent work transforming lives in some of the most disadvantaged communities across the UK.

By targeting issues such as poverty, isolation, low skills & poor health Groundwork UK helps provide our communities the tools to help themselves.

One of their current initiatives specifically focuses on our Schools which depend heavily on their outdoor space to provide outdoor learning opportunities and education to children. But many of our schools are located near busy main roads with no barriers, opening them up to air pollution that can cause lasting effects on the children that attend these schools. Groundwork supports these schools in creating new outdoor spaces and natural pollution barriers in these schools.

That is a cause that we are proud to support at Balfour Beatty by giving school children in our communities the opportunity to access green space and learn more about their outdoor space.

All i need to do is run 13.1 miles and avoid crippling myself !! :-)

Thanks for your support.
