Story
We are completing Challenges to raise money to support the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital. Having successfully completed a Twenty-Four Hour Running Relay around London in 2020 & a remote FORTY-EIGHT HOUR Relay in 2021. This year we are planning a THREE DAY RELAY across the country via running, cycling plus possibly rowing and swimming. According to JustGiving.com we have thus far raised £11,670 to fund a surgical stall for sensitive eye operations and £12,000 for a portable auto-refractometer to scan the eyes of patients not able to sit in a chair in the hospitals or clinics. At time of updating the total shows we have almost raised £24,000 including offline donations and gift aid. The 2022 Funding Targets have been set for our charity challenge team by St John Eye Hospital: Target one: £12,000 for an Autoreracto-Keratometer for the main Eye Hospital – an important scanner for measuring the degree of refractive error in the eye. Target two: £25,000 would fund a Large Steam Autoclave for the Hebron Clinic – this sterilises medical equipment for eye surgeries there & other vital uses. Last year 40% of the patients in Hebron were children. Please help us help them. If we can raise this total we can help vital surgery & continue the mission of Saving Sight and Changing Lives.
