Story
On October 2nd 2022, I shall be running the London Marathon for the first time, hoping to raise as much money as possible for JDRF, a charity that funds research into finding a cure for type 1 diabetes whilst helping to improve the lives of those living with type 1.
2020 and 2021 have been difficult for everyone in different ways. In May 2020, at 7 years old, my nephew James was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes creating a further challenge for James, my sister Anna and the rest of the family. James has amazed everyone by how he has integrated the necessary changes into his daily life, and we are all very proud of how resilient and brave he has been. Anna and the rest of the family have done an amazing job in supporting James throughout the ongoing challenges since his diagnosis. They have redefined what it means to achieve a ‘PB’ - I should at least beat mine in 2022!
So on October 2nd 2022 *and now also on April 3rd*, I shall be running to raise money for JDRF, but I’m not doing it my own… James will also be taking on his own goal to complete his Junior parkrun marathon band, possibly even completing his first full parkrun 5k! From both of us, a massive THANK YOU for your support and for any donation you are able to make.
*EDIT 01/09/21 - Virgin Money Giving closing down. New JustGiving Page set up with total from Virgin Money Giving added manually as 'offline donation', with donation records copied into 'updates' section below.*
*EDIT 25/08/21 - The date for London Marathon 2022 has been moved back to October 2nd. As a result, I shall also be running the Manchester Marathon 2022 on April 3rd. I shall be running to raise money for JDRF using the same fundraising page*
