World Cup Marathon Challenge (London, Barcelona, Moscow) · 1 June 2018

We believe in the power of football to help street children & are taking on Challenge14. Over 14 days, we're walking a marathon in 14 countries of the European qualifiers for the World Cup.

Story

I just got back from Moscow, the best ever Street Chid World Cup. The impact of the teams in country on their homecomings is astonishing- Team Nepal, Tanzania, Pakistan, Bolivia have all been presented to the Prime Minister or Presidents of their country's. Real Change is possible for street children. Through playing football.   I hugged and cried with the Big Issue seller in Cambridge this morning- he told me about the Kenya boys who are wrongly imprisoned in Mombassa - just for being on the streets- no fault of their own- he told me how proud he was that they represented Kenya at a World Cup in Russia and how sad he was that they were now returned to their jail. He had no idea who i was. Solidarity with homeless young people through this crazy world. The people doing this series of walks want to make a difference- change is long overdue. Thank you for your contribution to making life better for the millions of young people who have to live and work on our streets. I am walking in solidarity. To be honest after 4 years of organising the Street Child World Cup in Russia- I'd rather have a holiday and a sleep- but people on this journey inspire me - so thank you for your generosity - you and they are Somebody.
