Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 11th July 2021, I will be strapped to a Boeing Stearman biplane while it performs a series of low passes, zooms and climbs, reaching speeds of up to 130mph!

Why? Good question!! It's to raise much needed funds for Chestnut Tree House, a wonderful children's hospice based in Arundel, West Sussex. If you could spare a few pounds for this fantastic cause, I would be very grateful.

Here are some examples of what your donation could go towards.

£50 will give a child the opportunity to spend an hour benefiting from a swim in the hydrotherapy pool. So £250 will give this opportunity to five children.

£150 will allow a family of four to benefit from an overnight stay in one of the Family Rooms whilst their child is cared for by our specially trained nurses. So £450 will give three families this support.

£220 allows a member of the Community Team to provide a few hours specialist nursing care and symptom management for a life-limited child in the child’s home, allowing the parents or carers to spend quality time together.

£230 gives a child the chance to visit Chestnut Tree House for the day for a “Stay and Play” session. They will be able to enjoy the facilities and a range of activities whilst giving mum and dad a break from the daily care. So £460 will fund two children.

£856.80 could pay for nursing care for a child for 24 hours.

£887 will allow a nurse to support a family immediately following bereavement, helping them to plan the funeral and to say their final goodbyes to their child.

£960 will cover the costs of three individual children having eight weekly sessions with the Child and Young Person’s Psychotherapist or Family Counsellor. This can be at any time, to help them pre or post bereavement of a sibling.

£1,137 will pay for a Siblings Activity Day. This is a dedicated activity day for siblings either at Chestnut Tree House or out in the community and is a chance for them to give up their roles as carers and unpaid nurses, forget their day-to-day worries, and simply run around and play just like any other child.

So please dig deep and help me support this great cause. £2,500 will enable Chestnut Tree House to provide care for children and families that need support at a critical time and I cannot commend the work they do highly enough.
