A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE DONATED. ALL GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED.
SUCCESS: Well we made it. Against the elements and in particular some sapping headwinds we reached our target on time. Riding into John O'Groats at 5:00pm on Wed 5th May
Spurred on by Sport Relief and inspired by the solo gallantry of the incredible Eddie Izzard, in two weeks time along with an old school mate I am aiming to complete an unsupported pedal powered LEJOG - Lands End to John O'Groats - in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Taking 8 days hopping between friends/family/B&B/YHA's to cover a 1000miles, by a slightly more convoluted route than the motorways, and adding in Lizard Point and Dunnet Head to include the true southern and northern tips of mainland Britain. Coinciding with MS Week (
http://www.mssociety.org.uk/ms_week/index.html) we are setting off from Lands End on Wed 28th Apr, with overnight stops at: Okehampton; Bath; Telford; Lancaster; Traquair; Pitlochry; Culrain; and finally John O'Groats. To put some perspective on the distance, I was surprised to discover that Kendal is only the half-way point, and the total is further than London-Venice!
So I first ask that you keep your fingers crossed for some fantastic weather throughout the May Bank Holiday, as well as a southerly wind, and secondly that you hit the "Donate Now" button on this webpage to make a donation to my chosen charity - The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
My aim is to raise as many pennies per mile as I possibly can for each of the 1,000 miles. As a comparison just think how much it costs you to run a car per mile. So click "Donate Now" which is so easy, and don't forget the GiftAid option from you tax payers.
Every penny you donate counts, so please act right now.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
