Wilmslow Half Marathon 2014 · 23 March 2014 ·
As some of you will know, last year my brother-in-law, Kevin, lost his fight to Pancreatic Cancer. Our loss has been devastating for the whole family and we all miss him every day. My family and I have therefore decided to take part in the Wilmslow Half Marathon on the 23rd March 2014 and would like to try and raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
This is not the first time that I have raised money to help fight Pancreatic Cancer, sadly losing a colleague, David Peake (snr), shortly before Kevin.
It is only when you are close to someone who has been touched by this dreadful disease that you realise how many people are losing their fight. It is not one of the commonly known cancers with the 3% survival rate having hardly changing in the last 40 years. This can generally be attributed to difficulties in diagnosis with the lack of awareness leading to a later stage disease at diagnosis.
If you can help by making a small donation to go towards improving awareness and diagnosis my family and I would be very grateful. If we can help to stop one person suffering, as Kev and David did, it would mean so much.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
