Story

Back in May I had the dreaded phone call that told me that my blood test had come back with a high PSA (I didn't even know what PSA stood for) and that it was almost certain that I had Prostate Cancer that had spread to my bones.

Following a series of tests this has been confirmed. I have started treatment and feel better than I have for 6 months. I have a long way to go and start Chemotherapy in September.

When I saw the March the Month email I thought I can do that no problem 11,000 steps a day for the whole of September, (might need some help at the end of month). So dig deep and help me raise awareness and funds so that testing becomes routine for all men.

Each year more than 11,000 men die from prostate cancer - that's one man dying every 45 minutes. Given the statistics, I'm scrapping the 10,000 step challenge and instead walking 11,000 steps a day for the month of September. They money raised by this challenge will fund research into life-saving treatments for prostate cancer and provide practical support to men and their families.
